About Multisensory Structured Mathematics

Math can be an area of difficulty for many students, particularly those with learning needs, dyscalculia and dyslexia.

Multisensory maths engages multiple senses —visual, auditory, and tactile—to enhance learning. It employs hands-on activities, manipulatives, visual aids, and verbal instructions, allowing students to comprehend mathematical concepts more thoroughly.

The emphasis of this math approach for diverse learners is conceptual understanding as opposed to rote learning. This program can be used for remediation, instruction for mainstream students and for enrichment and promotes a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts by appealing to various learning styles and sensory modalities.

Our MSL numeracy training was completed by Ron Yoshimoto, the Master Orton-Gillingham Institute Instructor specialising in the Orton-Gillingham Methodology.

About Multisensory Structured Literacy (MSL)

Multisensory Structured Language Therapy (MSL) is a scientifically proven, brain-based approach to literacy learning that is direct, explicit, structured and multisensory. It integrates visual, auditory, and tactile elements to teach reading, writing and spelling. It utilises phonetic linguistics, education and psychology for success in spoken and written language.

It is especially beneficial for dyslexic learners.

This approach leverages varied sensory inputs to reinforce language skills, aiding in better comprehension and retention. The tactile involvement helps dyslexic individuals form stronger connections between letters, sounds, and words.

Our MSL training was completed with the

Institute for MultiSensory Language Education (IMSLE)

- the only accredited training with the ADA (Australian Dyslexia Association)
